Since setting up in 2011 we've teamed up with some great local, national and international partners:

This live venue with performance and rehearsal spaces attracts some of the biggest names on the underground circuit. With its idyllic, canal basin location it is close to the city centre but away from the hustle and bustle of the busy shopping precinct. Sound Knowledge will be offering stagecraft and live sound workshops here in the Spring giving musicians the opportunity to record, mix and master their songs and create videos of their final performances using the latest HDSLR equipment for an incredible, widescreen cinematic look. Sound Knowledge will be holding their official launch party here in the Spring and invites will be going out in the next few weeks. More to follow...

2 Tone Central is a museum, retaurant and cafe celebrating one of Coventry's most successful and enduring multicultural musical achievements. In the aftermath of the British punk explosion, the 2 Tone label rose from the ashes like Coventry's iconic phoenix to bring the infectious, sound of UK ska to the world. Even now, barely a week goes by where you don't hear one of The Specials' socially pointed anthems featured in a film or TV show. Their number one hit, 'Ghost Town' still resonates in the current climate and, like their fellow labelmates The Selecter, they are still a huge live draw attracting a whole new generation of ska fans. Sound Knowledge is partnering with 2 Tone Central to offer local, national and internationally relevant Cultural History sessions for schools, youth groups and visitors to the city. Sound Knowledge have brought Grammy Award winning, London based producer Steve Dub on board to deliver Music Industry Practice workshops informed by his wealth of experience in the business since the late 80s. Steve is also offering 2 day recording and mixing sessions in his London studio to provide first hand experience of the professional production process. For almost two decades Steve has worked alongside The Chemical Brothers engineering all of their records and he continues to deliver the biggest, beat-driven productions for many of today's most exciting new artists. This is a great opportunity to pick up some of the tricks and tips of a successful professional and get hands on experience with fanastic gear such as the SSL desk, Empirical Labs' Distressors and even Teenage Engineering's sensational new OP1 synth. After last year's gigs in Brazil, Belgium, Canada, Italy and Finland; Attrition's Martin Bowes is compiling new material to support his 'Live Performance & Touring' teaching. This subject is not only useful for students exploring what is an increasingly important aspect of musicrevenue but will also be of interest to anyone who is about to embark on their first national or international tour. Sound Knowledge has also linked up with Martin Atkins (ex Public Image Ltd, Killing Joke and Nine Inch Nails) to deliver his one day 'Tour Smart' seminar when he is in the UK. Originally from Nuneaton, Martin now runs Invisible Records in Chicago and teaches at Madison Media Institute. We are also in the process of formalising links with Beijing's School of Contemporary Music with a view to offering 4 week exchanges for undergraduates as well as the Hong Kong Design Institute to offer a 6 month pre-degree English + Music Tech foundation course.
