| AUDIO PRODUCTION AND TRAINING We are a music production and education consultancy offering bespoke training to schools, colleges and individuals wishing to enhance their current music provision or improve their level of expertise. For schools, our wide experience of both the music industry and the further education sector makes us ideally placed to contextualise any elements of your curiculum requiring specialist knowledge, be they practical, theoretical or anecdotal. For individuals we simply offer the best, friendly and informal training which is guaranteed to meet your specific needs. Mick Dabrowski Mick worked with many major label artists at Soho Studios in the 80s and 90s before entering teaching and then moving into management. As a Head of School at City College Coventry he managed a large music, media and performing arts department offering vocational courses from Level 1 to Level 4. With an MA in Audio Production from Westminster University, Mick now lectures at Gloucester and Buckinghamshire Universities whilst continuing to produce music across a range of genres both in London and at his own studio in Coventry. Martin Bowes Martin helped set up Coventry's first full-time music production course at Tile Hill College and went on to teach across a range of music programmes which grew from this initial success. He continues to tour Europe and the US as the creative nucleus and frontman of the electro-industrial band "Attrition" as well as producing and mastering albums and soundtracks for various international clients. Colin 'Turbo' Lea Colin has organised and delivered BTEC music courses at Level 2 for several colleges and has a wealth of experience in customising and maintaining studio facilities across the West Midlands. He is also Pro Tools certified and a qualified electrician. Steve 'Dub' Jones Steve is a 3 times Grammy Award winning producer/engineer who worked with Mick in London during the early 90s, teaming up again more recently to help three groups of music students complete their recording projects at London's Miloco Studios. Steve continues to work with numerous major label artists as one of London's most sought-after and respected sound engineers. Ashley Hannis Ash has handled the live sound for some of the UK's biggest acts over the last 10 years including Kasabian, Pete Doherty and more recently Nero and Labrinth. Ash is the chief sound engineer at Coventry's leading live music venue, The Kasbah (formerly The Coliseum) and has recently been working with bands touring Europe and the Far East. Fresh Opportunities for Secondary Schools As more schools adopt vocational, BTEC style courses alongside their traditional qualifications, our experience can prove invaluable, even at the planning stage. Setting up and maintaining a vibrant music facility may be far easier and more affordable than you think. Times and technologies have changed and professional quality audio production is no longer the sole preserve of big commercial studios or heavily funded universities. We can advise you on how to make the best of your existing spaces and resources; planning and carrying out any essential room modifications affordably and with minimal upheaval. Even if you feel your existing resources are somewhat limited, you needn't let this restrict your curriculum as we can provide comprehensive mobile facilities to cover any previously unresourced syllabus requirements. We can also advise you on the best hardware and software options from a single front-of-class system to cost-effective, individual workstations. If software budgets are tight or non-existant, we can even show you how to run everything using nothing but freeware. If you would like advice on any aspect of the courses you are running or considering, please contact us for an informal chat. |
